Our resources
Optimal management of energy resources must be organised on a national level.
That is the level at which the availability of our part of the total vegetal biomass must be evaluated.
But its production is local!.
It is a direct result of the maintenance of urban and suburban parks, gardens and other planted areas, whose number and extent are in constant progression:
- Urban pruning, trimming, clearing, mowing, roadside clean-up... by municipalities and contractors.
- Green waste from cutting, trimming and shaping plants, hedges, trees, lawns… in private gardens.
This waste (resource) is created all the year round, with peaks in spring and autumn.
In geographical terms, it is highly concentrated in urbanised areas and its collection does not require heavy or long-distance transport.
At the present time, in France, green waste production has reached an annual level of almost 100 kg per inhabitant.
Collecting, processing into pellets and burning to produce heat and hot water is all done locally, keeping costs to a minimum and energy and environmental efficiency at a maximum.
Part of our consumption of fossil-based fuels will be replaced by this non-polluting energy source.
The renewable character of the energy is ensured by its vegetal origin. It is a direct and natural consequence of the pruning and planting cycle.
